Countdown to Christmas ~ Advent Calendar

Happy December 1st!! The Countdown to Christmas begins...

Today, I am proud to show off this Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar I made. My friend Mia, had saw this class at our local scrapbook store while I was in New York and she decided to take the class. Well, she had to work the night of the class and was unable to attend so she picked up a kit. She completed her Calendar over the holiday weekend and posted hers to her blog...

Well, I fell in love with it and thought hey I could do that... So off to Michael's I went to purchase the supplies.... I started this project at 9pm on Sunday night, and I finished it Monday afternoon. I am so happy to share this completed Countdown to Christmas Advent Calendar.



The hardest part I found on this project was getting all the cutting done. 24 Squares matted and a header... Then punching 24 circles for the numbers and 48 circles for the lids. Once the cutting is done it is pretty easy to assemble.


The paper is from American Crafts and it came in a paper pack from Michael's. I love all the candies and gingerbread men.


I used clear little bead containers that you can find at your craft store. The lids come off and you can put a candy or a toy in each day of the month.

Now, all I have to do is fill it up with some goodies for Gavin. I know hwe will love this, and every year the excitment as we count down to Christmas will be well worth every minute I spent working on this.
